Ty Rattie scores 38th goal of the season as Winterhawks beat Rockets 4-2

PORTLAND, Ore. - Ty Rattie scored his league-leading 38th goal as the Portland Winterhawks beat the Kelowna Rockets 4-2 in Western Hockey League action.

Rattie added two assists for Portland (27-12-3), which won its 15th consecutive home game.

Cam Reid scored in his first game with Portland after being acquired from Edmonton just prior to Tuesday's WHL trade deadline. Reid had been playing NCAA hockey with St. Cloud State.

Rattie and Reid scored on the power play in the first period for the Winterhawks, sandwiched around a Madison Bowey goal for Kelowna.

Taylor Peters and Oliver Gabriel scored short-handed goals in the second period as the Winterhawks extended the lead 4-1 through 40 minutes.

Brett Lyon, who came to Kelowna from Moose Jaw in a deadline deal, scored in the third period in his debut with the Rockets (17-20-5).

Portland goaltender Mac Carruth made 33 saves to earn the victory, while Kelowna's Adam Brown stopped 25 shots.

The Winterhawks are 3-0 against the Rockets this season, and the teams meet for the fourth and final time Friday in Portland.
