ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Anaheim Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller left Sunday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with a lower-body injury and did not return.
His status was not immediately known.
Hiller suffered the injury as he sprawled out in the crease to make a save late in the first period.
Iiro Tarkki, who was recalled from AHL Syracuse earlier Sunday because of a groin injury to Dan Ellis, replaced Hiller and made his NHL debut.
If Hiller's injury is serious, it could put Anaheim in a bind. The Ducks announced earlier Sunday that Ellis would miss about four weeks.
