Four days after winning the Bridgestone Winter Classic in Philadelphia, the New York Rangers will try their luck at the other end of Pennsylvania when they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins in one of five games on Friday's NHL schedule.
The Rangers come to Pittsburgh at the top of the NHL standings after Thursday's 3-2 overtime victory against Florida at Madison Square Garden. The Penguins are playing their first game of 2012 -- they’ve been off since a 3-1 loss at New Jersey on Saturday.
The NHL Network will air the game in both the United States and Canada, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
Two other games also start at 7. The Panthers go across the Hudson River to New Jersey, where the Devils will try to rebound from Wednesday's 6-1 home loss to Boston. Carolina, a 4-3 shootout loser to the Islanders on Tuesday, will try to bounce back when Buffalo comes to the RBC Center. The Sabres have been off since beating Edmonton 4-3 at home on Tuesday.
At 8:30, the Chicago Blackhawks are back home after Thursday's 5-4 loss at Philadelphia to host Colorado. The Avs have been off since Monday's 2-1 shootout win at Los Angeles.
In the final game of the night, the Islanders head west to visit the Anaheim Ducks, who are coming off a 3-1 loss to San Jose on Wednesday. That game can be seen in Canada on the NHL Network, beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
