Maple Leafs sent forward Caputi to Ducks in exchange for Deschamps

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs sent forward Luca Caputi to the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday for forward Nicolas Deschamps.

The Leafs also recalled defenceman Korbinian Holzer and assigned forward Philippe Dupuis to the Toronto Marlies. Deschamps was also assigned to the American Hockey League team.

Deschamps, a 21-year old native of Lasalle, Que., was selected by the Ducks in the second round (No. 35 overall) of the 2008 NHL entry draft. The six-foot-one, 182-pound forward had seven points (five goals, two assists) in 35 games with AHL Syracuse this season.

Caputi had three points (2-1) in 21 games for the Marlies this season. The six-foot-three, 200-pound forward was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round (No. 111 overall) of the 2007 draft.

Holzer has seven points (1-6) in 29 games for the Marlies. Dupuis did not record a point in 30 games for the Maple Leafs.
