The National Collegiate Hockey Conference, the new eight-team, Division I men’s hockey conference that will begin play in the 2013-14 season, will introduce its first commissioner at a news conference on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET in Colorado Springs.
The new Commissioner will be introduced by Brian Faison, athletic director of the University of North Dakota. Representatives from member institutions in the new conference also will be on hand. The conference is comprised of Colorado College, University of Denver, Miami University, University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Nebraska Omaha, University of North Dakota, St. Cloud State University and Western Michigan University.
The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.
