Flyers' Schenn scores first NHL goal -- in Classic

For the second time in as many Winter Classic appearances, a member of the Philadelphia Flyers scored his first NHL goal.

Brayden Schenn opened the scoring in the Bridgestone 2012 NHL Winter Classic with his first career goal at 12:26 of the second period. Matt Carle won a race for the loose puck near the left wall and fired it toward the net. The puck bounced off New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and Schenn was there, near the right post, to pounce on the rebound.

Schenn joined the Flyers this offseason as part of the package that arrived in a trade from the Los Angeles Kings for ex-Flyers captain Mike Richards.

Defenseman Danny Syvret scored Philadelphia's lone goal of the 2010 Winter Classic at Fenway Park, and it was also his first career NHL tally.
