Subban makes 33 saves to lead the Bulls past the Whalers 5-1

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Malcom Subban stopped 33 of 34 shots to lead the Belleville Bulls to a 5-1 victory against the Plymouth Whalers on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Adam Payerl and Brady Austin each had a goal and an assist for Belleville (20-13-0) as Dylan Corson, Daniil Zharkov and Austen Brassard added singles.

Danny Vanderwiel scored the lone goal for Plymouth (22-9-3).

Matt Mahalak stopped 35 shots in defeat.

Neither team could score on the power play as both the Bulls and Whalers each went 0-for-4.

Playing for my favorite team growing up, I've probably scored that goal a million times in my driveway. It feels good to actually do it in real life.
