Last-place Blue Jackets get up a boost up front, activate left-winger Huselius

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Left wing Kristian Huselius was activated off injured reserve by the Blue Jackets on Friday.

Huselius, 33, who missed all of Columbus' 25 games due to a pectoral injury suffered while lifting weights, has 190 goals and 451 points in 660 career games with Florida, Calgary and Columbus.

The 47th overall pick in the 1997 draft by the Panthers, Huselius has 58 goals and 142 points since signing with the Blue Jackets on July 2, 2008.

Columbus is 7-15-3 with 17 points and is in last place in the Central Division.

Quote of the Day

It's pretty crazy, but believe me when I say we didn't draft these players with the mindset we had to because they had good hockey-playing dads. It just turned out that way. But we're certainly glad they're a part of our organization.

— Arizona Coyotes director of amateur scouting Tim Bernhardt regarding the coincidence that six of the organization's top prospects are sons of former NHL players
