On Wednesday, eventual Hall-of-Famer Martin Brodeur made his bid for save of the year. With the Maple Leafs applying pressure early in the third period, Phil Kessel was given a golden opportunity to score. The NHL's leading scorer stared at an open net and fired the puck towards it, but Brodeur lunged across the crease to make a remarkable stick save, leaving Kessel laughing in amazement.

In Saturday's Flyers-Hurricanes game, rookie forward Zac Rinaldo brought the Philadelphia faithful to their feet a few minutes into the second period by deliving a booming hit on Carolina defenseman Jamie McBain. With McBain backing into his own blueline while carrying the puck, Rinaldo skated in from the side and caught McBain off guard.

On Halloween, Rangers forward Ryan Callahan showed why he is adored by the Blueshirts faithful. Known for his hard work ethic and physical style of play, Callahan delivered late in the second period for the home crowd. The Rangers captain cruised around the net and scooped up the rebound to score a goal while fighting off a Sharks defender.
