NBC's NHL broadcasts don't get underway until the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend, but the League is already making its way on to the network in a manner that would make famed fictional Blackhawks fan Clark Griswold proud.
In an upcoming episode of the NBC sitcom Whitney, Chris D'Elia and Dan O'Brien's characters make their on-ice allegiance known as they commiserate over a missed shot by Troy Brouwer -- still a Blackhawk for the purposes of the episode, though he now plays for the Capitals. Displaying the superstition that fandom is heir to, the pair then debate over whose apartment is likely to help the team more and the finer points of recycling.
I've got a lot of experience and there's a lot of young guys. It's even making me excited a little more. It's kind of a new life. At my age, I feel like I know a lot of things what to do, but I just cannot do it anymore. It's a lot easier to tell them what to do because they've still got the legs and hands to do it. I just know things, but I cannot do them anymore.
