The New York Islanders on Tuesday signed veteran forward Jay Pandolfo to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal were not released.
Pandolfo, 36, who had been attending training camp on a tryout contract, had 1 assist and a plus-1 rating in five preseason games.
A veteran of 13 NHL seasons -- all with the New Jersey Devils -- has 99 goals and 124 assists in 819 games. He was a part of Stanley Cup championships in 2000 and 2003, and in 131 Stanley Cup Playoff games, he has 11 goals and 22 assists.
He spent last season with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, scoring 2 goals in 12 games.
