Rangers unbeaten when leading after two periods
A statistical look at the 2010-11 New York Rangers.
Advantage Margin: +33
All of the Rangers' extra power plays came at Madison Square Garden, where New York had 151 advantages while allowing just 118. Both the Rangers and their opponents had 139 power-play chances on the road.

Special Teams Goal Margin: +13
The Rangers were fifth in the NHL in fewest power-play goals allowed with just 42 and helped themselves by scoring 11 times while shorthanded.

Goals by defensemen: 27
The Rangers still are looking for a big gun on the blue line -- Dan Girardi, known more for his League-leading total of blocked shots, topped all New York defensemen with 31 points, while partner Marc Staal was first with 7 goals.

Wins by the Rangers in the 29 games they led after two periods. New York was the only team in the League to win every game in which it took a lead into the third period, though they did blow a 3-0 lead after two periods against the Washington Capitals in Game 4 of the opening round of the playoffs.

Percentage of faceoffs won by the Rangers, ranking them 25th in the League. It's the third consecutive season the Rangers' faceoff percentage has dropped from the previous season.

Scheduling
With Madison Square Garden being renovated, the Rangers play their first seven games in Europe, Long Island and Western Canada. Their home opener is Oct. 27, the first of six in a row at MSG. No other trip is longer than four games, and the Rangers have a seven-game homestand in mid-March.
