Bettman statement on incident in London, Ontario
NEW YORK -- Gary Bettman, Commissioner of the National Hockey League, today released the following statement regarding an incident at Thursday night's pre-season game between the Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers in London, Ontario.:

"We have millions of great fans who show tremendous respect for our players and for the game. The obviously stupid and ignorant action by one individual is in no way representative of our fans or the people of London, Ontario."
Quote of the Day

I mean, hockey had to change the rules because of Marty, and that's impressive. I got two Stanley Cup rings because of the guy. Look at the banners of [Scott Niedermayer, Scott Stevens and Ken Daneyko] and Marty is right up there when you think about the New Jersey Devils; he was part of the core group and he'll go down as one of the greatest goalies ever.
