Pandolfo accepts tryout with Islanders
Veteran forward Jay Pandolfo will attend training camp with the New York Islanders on a tryout contract, the team announced Saturday.

Pandolfo, who will turn 37 in December, played 13 seasons with the New Jersey Devils, winning the Stanley Cup with the team in 2000 and 2003. Known as a standout defensive forward, Pandolfo has 99 goals and 223 points in 819 career NHL games.

Let go by the Devils in June 2010, Pandolfo played 12 games for the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League last season after signing a tryout contract in November.

Pandolfo was a second-round pick by New Jersey in the 1993 Entry Draft. He had 78 goals and 167 points in 133 career games at Boston University before joining the Devils.
