Canadiens sign Woywitka to one-year contract
The Canadiens have signed veteran defenseman Jeff Woywitka to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2011-12 season. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In 2010-11, Woywitka recorded 2 goals and 11 points in 63 games with the Dallas Stars. He finished with a plus-5 rating, fifth-best on the team.

Since the 2005-06 season, Woywitka, 27, has played 251 career regular season games in the NHL with the Blues and Stars. A former first-round pick of the Flyers in the 2001 Entry Draft, he has registered 8 goals and 49 points.
