If Brad Richards wasn't a Motley Crue fan before, he might be one now.
If Brad Richards wasn't a Motley Crue fan before, he might be one now.

The New York Rangers center was staying at a hotel in New York this week and went to check his Twitter account, @BRichards_1991, on one of the hotel's computers on Thursday.

When he left, Richards forgot to do one very important thing -- log out of his account.

When the next patron sat down to use the computer, he had the online equivalent of an open wallet in front of him. However, the next person at the computer wasn't just any guy off the street.

It was Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.

Lee decided to have a bit of fun at Richards' expense, sending out one tweet that read, " im a dork!.... im still signed in in NYC!! uh oh!!!!!!"

Not long after that, Lee sent out another tweet, telling Richards he was going to sign him out of the computer.

About that time Richards realized something strange was going on with his Twitter account and was concerned it had been hacked.

That's when Lee sent Richards a tweet from his own account, @mrtommyland, informing Richards that he didn't have to create a new Twitter account and go through the hassle of telling his 34,000-plus followers where next to find him.

A relieved Richards, once he figured out that it really was Lee who helped him out, thanked him and tweeted him an invitation to future Rangers game: "Thanks for taking care of things with my twitter account!! Your coming to a Ranger game this year.... Great story"
