Rangers re-sign Boyle to three-year pact
The New York Rangers and Brian Boyle avoided arbitration by coming to terms on a three-year contract Thursday, according to the Bergen Record.
The New York Rangers and Brian Boyle avoided arbitration by coming to terms on a three-year contract Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Bergen Record is reporting the deal is worth a total of $5.1 million, with a $1.7 million cap hit each season. Boyle earned $525,000 last year.

Boyle, 26, is coming off a breakout season with the Rangers, where he established new career-highs in goals (21) assists (14) and games played (82). It was Boyle's second season with New York after playing parts of two seasons with the Los Angeles Kings.

The 6-foot-7, 244-pound center had 218 shots last season after posting just 73 in 72 games in 2009-10.

The Rangers have two remaining restricted free agents -- forwards Ryan Callahan and Brandon Dubinsky.
