With the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks on the brink of elimination against the Vancouver Canucks, Dave Bolland almost single-handedly carried his team to victory with a spectacular four-point performance. It was Bolland’s first game back after missing six weeks from a concussion.
In a must-win game, the Blackhawks responded to a 3-0 series deficit with a 7-3 victory over the Canucks, including Bolland’s goal and three assists. After the first period ended in a 1-1 tie, the Blackhawks rolled out with six unanswered goals in the next 30 minutes of play -- including four goals in the second period to completely change the momentum of the series.
