Gillies, the 16th pick of the 2007 Entry Draft, had 1 goal in seven NHL games last season, and in 52 career games, the 6-foot-4, 208-pound left wing has 3 goals, 5 assists and 20 penalty minutes.

He played a major role last season with the Houston Aeros, the Wild's American Hockey League affiliate. He had 11 goals and 15 assists in 64 regular-season games, and then added a team-best 7 goals in 24 playoff games to help Houston reach the Calder Cup Finals.
Quote of the Day

We have no doubt how he can play. You don't, with four teams that are left, you're not getting here without good goaltending. All great goalies left, and [Bishop] is a top-tier goaltender in this league and he's shown it.
