Flyers trade Versteeg to Panthers for picks

Philadelphia has traded forward Kris Versteeg to Florida in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2012 or 2013 Entry Draft, as well as a third-round selection in 2012.

Versteeg's tenure in Philadelphia was short -- he was acquired from the Maple Leafs at last season's trade deadline and suited up for just 27 games with the Flyers.

Versteeg -- a 25-year-old right wing who was a member of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks -- tallied 21 goals and 25 assists for the Flyers and Maple Leafs last season.

In 250 career NHL games, the 5-foot-8, 182-pound Alberta native recorded 65 goals and 82 assists.
