Dierks Bentley, Far East Movement to perform at 2011 NHL Awards at the Palms Hotel
NEW YORK – Multi-platinum country music star Dierks Bentley and hip hop / electro pop group Far East Movement will be among the performers at the 2011 NHL Awards™, the National Hockey League announced today. Bentley and Far East Movement will take the stage on Wednesday, June 22 at the Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas for the sold out event. Hosted by actor/comedian Jay Mohr, the NHL Awards will feature the best hockey players in the world alongside celebrities from music, stage and screen in celebration of the 2010-11 hockey season. The 2011 NHL Awards will be broadcast live at 7pm ET on VERSUS in the U.S. and CBC in Canada.

Bentley and Far East Movement's music should be familiar to NHL fans.  Bentley's new rowdy sing-a-long party song "Am I The Only One," the lead single off his upcoming sixth Capitol Nashville studio project, and Far East Movement's platinum hit single "Rocketeer" were featured in NHL® Conference Finals national TV tune-in spots on NBC, VERSUS, CBC, RDS and NHL Network. The spots also ran online at NHL.com and team websites, in-arena during Playoff games and across the NHL's social media platforms.

TV tune-in spots for the 2011 NHL Awards feature Far East Movement's "If I Was You (OMG)." The spots are currently airing on VERSUS, CBC and NHL Network and online at NHL.com and team websites.

Bentley is one of country music's biggest stars and a longtime hockey fan. His new album follows in the footsteps of the critically acclaimed Up on the Ridge (Capitol Nashville), which earned Bentley Album of the Year nominations at the Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Awards and GRAMMY Awards this year. His five previous albums have sold over five million copies, earned 10 GRAMMY nominations, and spawned seven No. 1 hits (What Was I Thinkin," "Come A Little Closer,"  "Settle For A Slowdown,"  "Every Mile A Memory,"  "Free and Easy (Down The Road I Go)," "Feel That Fire," "Sideways") and 12 Top 10 hits.

Inspired by the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the upcoming 2011 NHL Awards, Bentley released a second music video for "Am I The Only One," featuring game highlights from the 2010-11 NHL season and performance footage from Bentley's recent tour. A longtime hockey fan, Bentley's music video debuted on CMT.com and has been featured during NHL Network programming, including NHL Live and On The Fly, and online at NHL.com and Dierks.com. Bentley is currently playing summer tour dates across the country and plays hockey on his days off the road in a men's recreational hockey league in Nashville, Tenn.

Far East Movement found mainstream success after building a following in the Downtown Los Angeles club scene.  Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif and DJ Virman triumphed when their song, "Girls On The Dance Floor," co-written by Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Bruno Mars, topped radio charts across the country.  The success led to a record deal with CherryTree/Interscope Records and release of their debut album, Free Wired, in October 2010.  The album's lead single, "Like A G6," exploded on radio and sales charts, reaching triple platinum-plus status and the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart making them the first Asian-American group with a #1 song in the country. "Rocketeer," the second single featuring Ryan Tedder of One Republic, became another platinum selling Top 10 Billboard charting song that connected with new fans of all ages.  Superstar Snoop Dogg is featured on the single "If I Was You (OMG)," who they performed with at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. "Like A G6" took home the ASCAP Award for the Top Pop Song and was nominated for Best Rap Song at the Billboard Music Awards. FM's music has received major placements on musically-driven TV shows including "Entourage" and "Gossip Girl" and in movie franchises, including "The Fast and the Furious."  This past year, the group toured with Lady Gaga, Rihanna, NERD and Mike Posner, among others.  This summer, the group will tour with Lil Wayne for the I AM MUSIC tour.
