Raffi Torres is Vancouver's grizzled Cup Final veteran, and even he can't believe it.
"It is a little strange," said Torres, who played all seven games with Edmonton in the 2006 Stanley Cup Final. "You think with all the great players that we have on this team ? obviously Vancouver hasn't been far off the last couple of years. I think with this team, the leaders that we've got in the room, they're really keeping it easy for everyone in the room."
Torres, though, has been the sounding board for some of the guys, especially going into Media Day on Tuesday. He's not short on advice, either.
"The worst thing that happened with Edmonton is we lost, but just to be back at this dance again, it doesn't come around too often."
Torres admits he's more comfortable in this element because of his experience with the Oilers in 2006. He also understands how to better handle all the ticket requests he's getting.
"You know what, that was a big problem that I had back in '06," he said. "I was on the phone trying to please everybody and now I'm just saying it's about my immediate family and you're on your own. I have best friends calling asking can you do this or that, but if I have to be a bad guy for a few weeks I'll take that in order to bring home a Cup."
