Spott to coach Canada at Hlinka Tournament
Kitchener Rangers coach Steve Spott has been appointed coach of Canada's summer under-18 team which will play in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

The tournament will be held Aug. 8-13 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

"It is always a tremendous privilege and honor to represent Canada on the international stage," said Spott. "Being with Team Canada in the past has always been a tremendous experience and I am anxious to get started with the coaching staff to get our plan in place."

Canada has won three straight gold medals at the event. Spott was an assistant coach with the 1998 Hlinka team that started the current gold-medal run.

Assisting Spott will be Drummondville Voltigeurs coach Mario Duhamel and Spokane Chiefs coach Don Nachbaur.
