Canucks-Predators opens second round Thursday
The second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs gets under way on Thursday night with the top-seeded Vancouver Canucks hosting the Nashville Predators in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal at 9 p.m. ET (Versus, CBC, RDS).

It will mark a quick turnaround for the Canucks, who survived the Blackhawks coming back from a 3-0 series deficit to force Game 7 before finally claiming a 2-1 win Tuesday night on an Alexandre Burrows goal. The Predators have been off since Sunday, when they completed the first playoff series win in franchise history by eliminating the Ducks in six games.

Keep an eye on NHL.com as the rest of the second-round playoff schedule will be released later Wednesday night following the conclusion of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Quote of the Day

When we started our journey we made a commitment to our fans to be relevant and to see the Chicago Blackhawks become the best professional hockey organization. There are not two finer symbols of that than Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. The commitment we have made to these incredible young men is equal to the commitment they have made to our team, our fans, our entire organization and the city of Chicago.
