Following this weekend's tragic earthquake in Japan and the resultant tsunamis which have affected the entire Pacific, the NHL is encouraging fans to donate money to the Red Cross disaster relief fund to aid the relief effort.
To help aid the relief effort, fans can donate via the League's NHL Green site or through the American Red Cross here.
Donations can also be made via text message by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999.

For each goal scored during the Regular Season, the NHL is restoring 1,000 gallons of water to a critically dewatered river, through Bonneville Environmental Foundation's Water Restoration Certificates.
