NEW YORK – U.S. Senator and lifelong hockey player John Kerry (D-MA) and Representatives Brian Higgins (D-NY) and Pat Meehan (R-PA) are tomorrow's guests on NHL Hour With Commissioner Gary Bettman on NHL.com and SIRIUS XM Radio at 6 p.m. ET. The show will broadcast live from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly will participate in a Congressional Hockey Caucus Briefing on Capitol Hill tomorrow. The briefing will focus on the state of hockey in America and the relationship between hockey and education and physical rehabilitation.
The Congressional Hockey Challenge charity hockey game also will take place on Thursday at Verizon Center at 6 p.m. ET. The game will feature the Lawmakers team comprised of Senator Kerry, Representatives Higgins and Meehan along with Representatives Larry Bucshon (R-IN), Mike Quigley (D-IL) and Anthony Weiner (D-NY). They will take on a group of federal lobbyists in the third annual event.
All proceeds from the game will benefit the Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club and the Fort DuPont Ice Arena.
