Flames add former Cup winner Modin
Calgary announced that it acquired Freddy Modin from the Atlanta Thrashers Monday.
The Calgary Flames have acquired Freddy Modin from the Atlanta Thrashers for a seventh-round draft pick.

Modin, who won the Stanley Cup in 2004 with the Tampa Bay Lightning, has 3 goals and 10 pints in 36 games for the Thrashers this season. The Flames have surged into the top eight of the Western Conference after being near the bottom of the NHL standings as late as mid-December.
