Division leaders meet in Vancouver

The Boston Bruins are spending their Saturday night a long way from home.

The Bruins' two-week road trip brings them to Rogers Arena in Vancouver for a showdown of division leaders. The Northeast-leading Bruins have had three days off since a 3-1 win at Calgary on Tuesday, while the Canucks, who lead the Northwest, the Western Conference and the overall NHL standings.

Boston is making its first trip to Vancouver since winning 1-0 on Oct. 28, 2008, and it's just the Bruins' third visit since 2002. The 10 p.m. ET start is the second half of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada doubleheader -- and the last of eight games on Saturday's schedule.

The action begins at 2 p.m. ET, when the Nashville Predators visit Dallas. The Preds have been blanked in back-to-back games, including Thursday's 3-0 loss to Chicago, while Dallas is back home after ending a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 win at Detroit.

At 4 p.m., the struggling Colorado Avalanche visit Los Angeles. The Avs have dropped 11 of their last 12, including Wednesday's 5-1 home loss to Edmonton. The Kings started a six-game homestand Thursday by beating Minnesota 4-2.

The other five games all get under way at 7 p.m. ET.

Toronto tries to build on Thursday's 5-4 win at Montreal when it hosts Pittsburgh, a 4-1 loser at Carolina on Friday. It's the first half of the Hockey Night in Canada doubleheader and can be seen in the U.S. on the NHL Network.

Carolina will try for two wins in as many nights when it visits Montreal, a game that can be seen in Canada on RDS and regionally on CBC. Buffalo, still three points behind the eighth-place 'Canes in the East after beating Ottawa 4-2 on Friday, hosts Detroit. The Wings are playing the opener of a five-game road trip.

Philadelphia, the top team in the East and a 4-3 overtime winner against the Islanders on Thursday, travels to Ottawa in a game that can be seen regionally in Canada on CBC. The Isles will try to rebound when they host Washington, which comes to Long Island after a 6-0 home loss to the Rangers on Friday night.
