Flyers' O'Donnell out with knee injury
Philadelphia defenseman Sean O'Donnell doesn't miss time very often, but the Flyers will be without the veteran for 10-14 days, according to GM Paul Holmgren
Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren informed reporters Monday that defenseman Sean O'Donnell could miss up to two weeks with a left knee injury suffered during Sunday's game against the New York Rangers.

"Sean's probably out for, I think, 10 days to two weeks," Holmgren said. "(He has) a little bit of a knee thing going on."

The Flyers have six games in the next 14 days, starting with Tuesday's home game against the Phoenix Coyotes.

O'Donnell has only missed seven games in the last 4 1/2 seasons. He has played in all 59 games this season, missed four in 2009-10, and played in all 82 games in 2008-09 and 2007-08. He only missed three games in the 2006-07 season when his Anaheim Ducks won the Stanley Cup.

O'Donnell saw just 1:03 of playing time against the Rangers on Sunday before leaving the game with his injury in the opening period. With O'Donnell missing most of the game, Kimmo Timonen (26:15), Chris Pronger (25:26) and Matt Carle (25:08) logged over 25 minutes. O'Donnell has 1 goal, 12 points and a plus-7 rating for the Flyers this season. He's also ranked sixth on the team with 60 blocked shots. In O'Donnell's absence, Oskars Bartulis will play Tuesday against the Coyotes. It'll be his first game since Jan. 11.

In 12 games this season, has no points and minus-4 rating.

"We don't have really roster flexibility right now to call anybody up anyway," Holmgren said.

Holmgren also said fourth-line center Blair Betts (finger) would miss Tuesday's game, but could return to the lineup on Thursday against the New York Islanders.
