Bruins-Wings on NBC highlights busy Sunday
The Wings won 6-1 at Boston on Friday, and the Bruins will be looking for revenge when the teams face off at 12:30 on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena in NBC's Game of the Week.
In the Original Six days, a home-and-home series between the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings was nothing out of the ordinary. But that was then -- these days, the teams play only twice a season at most, so the Friday-Sunday matchup between the Bruins and Wings is a treat for hockey fans.

The Wings won 6-1 at Boston on Friday, and the Bruins will be looking for revenge when the teams face off at 12:30 on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena in NBC's Game of the Week. Fans in Canada can see the game on the NHL Network.

The Bruins and Wings kick off a busy Sunday of hockey, with eight games on the schedule.

At 3 p.m. ET, the Pittsburgh Penguins will try to bounce back from Friday's 9-3 thrashing on Long Island when they come into New York for a visit to Madison Square Garden. The Rangers bring a six-game losing streak back home after Friday's 3-2 loss at Atlanta. The game can be seen in the United States on the NHL Network.

The Islanders try to build on their rout of the Penguins when they visit Buffalo -- the fourth game between the teams in less than a month. The Sabres return home after sweeping a two-game trip through Florida. Los Angeles continues its 10-game trip with a stop in Philadelphia. The Kings are looking for a weekend sweep after a 4-1 win at Washington on Saturday. The Flyers have been off since beating Carolina 2-1 on Thursday.

Also at 3, Columbus visits Dallas in a battle of teams coming off wins on Friday. The Blue Jackets beat Colorado 3-1 while the Stars overcame a three-goal deficit for a 4-3 shootout victory against Chicago.

At 5 p.m. ET, the battle for eighth place in the East resumes when Carolina comes to Atlanta. The teams come into the game with 59 points each after Carolina earned a point in a 4-3 overtime loss at Tampa Bay. San Jose continues its road trip with a visit to Florida. The Sharks had their five-game winning streak snapped with a 2-1 loss at New Jersey on Friday, while Florida lost 3-2 in OT to Buffalo on Thursday.

In the final game of the night, Anaheim goes for a three-game sweep of Western Canada when it visits Edmonton at 8 p.m. ET. The Ducks had Saturday off after Friday's 5-4 overtime win at Calgary, while the Oilers lost 5-3 to Ottawa on Saturday afternoon.
