All-Star fantasy draft set for tonight (TSN, VERSUS)
All-Star fantasy draft set for tonight (TSN, VERSUS).
All of the posturing and pleading is about to be over -- the time for Nicklas Lidstrom and Eric Staal to choose their teams for the 2011 NHL All-Star Game presented by Discover almost is here.

Team Lidstrom and Team Staal will make their decisions live Friday (8 p.m. ET, VERSUS, TSN) at the NHL All-Star Player Fantasy Draft powered by Cisco. Alternate captains Martin St. Louis and Patrick Kane will be helping Lidstrom, while Mike Green and Ryan Kesler will offer their insight to Staal.

Storylines to watch include the potential for family drama with both Henrik and Daniel Sedin available in the draft, as well as Staal's younger brother, Marc. Can Eric Staal make good on his plan to secure the full support of the home crowd by selecting teammates Cam Ward and Jeff Skinner? Which member of Kane's Blackhawks will Team Lidstrom take first -- or not at all?

All these questions and more will be answered Friday.
Quote of the Day

He's a winner. We want winners here, and he's a proven winner. He's won two Stanley Cups. He's 22 years old and been a big part of it. He's got all the right tools. He's got size (6-foot-1, 204 pounds) and strength. He's exactly what we were looking for. He's going to be a big piece of our team for many, many years to come.

— Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen on Brandon Saad, who he acquired in a trade with the Blackhawks on Tuesday
