The Stars will bid for an Alberta sweep when they visit the Calgary Flames in a game that gets under way at 9 p.m. ET. Dallas made it eight in a row on the road by winning 4-2 at Edmonton on Thursday, while the Flames are coming off a 6-0 home loss to Minnesota on Wednesday.

The Stars-Flames game is the last of four on the NHL's Friday schedule. The other three all start at 7:30 p.m. ET.

In Buffalo, the Sabres will try to build on Thursday's 4-2 win at Boston when they host the Islanders. New York lost 2-1 to Washington at home on Thursday and hasn't won since beating the Sabres 5-3 on Long Island last Saturday.

Ottawa also tries to bounce back after a 6-2 loss at Philadelphia on Thursday when the Montreal Canadiens come to Scotiabank Place following a 2-1 overtime loss at Buffalo on Tuesday. The game can be seen in Canada on RDS.

The battle of the Sunshine State resumes in Sunrise, Fla., where the Florida Panthers host Tampa Bay. The Panthers come off a 3-2 overtime loss to Columbus on Wednesday, while the Lightning stayed on top of the Southeast Division with a 3-2 shootout win at Atlanta on Thursday.
Quote of the Day
