The San Jose Sharks acquired forward Ben Eager from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2011 Entry Draft.

The 26-year-old Eager was part of the Chicago Blackhawks' Stanley Cup championship last season. He was dealt to the Thrashers during the offseason and had 3 goals and 7 assists in 34 games.

Eager just finished serving a four-game suspension for his blindside punch to the face of Toronto's Colby Armstrong in game on Jan. 7.

Quote of the Day

I think I'm lucky to be here and you definitely don't take very many things for granted, if you take anything for granted. I definitely put my family and my wife and my close family in perspective, that they're the most important thing in the world. I want to do whatever I can to play hockey, but like I said, under the right circumstances.
