Stars give Daley six-year contract extension
Trevor Daley doesn't have to worry about leaving the Dallas Stars anytime soon.

The seven-year veteran, a second-round pick by Dallas in the 2002 Entry Draft, agreed Wednesday to a six-year contract extension with the club that will pay him $19.8 million.

"Trevor is a big part of our team and an important member of our blue line," Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk said in a statement released by the team. "At 27 years of age, we feel his career is pointing up. We expect him to continue to develop and grow as he takes an even bigger role on our team. We are pleased to have him under contract for another six seasons."

Daley has 2 goals and 11 points with a plus-8 rating in 37 games this season. For his career, he has 28 goals, 114 points and 363 penalty minutes in 453 regular-season games, as well as 2 goals in 29 playoff games.
