An intriguing cross-conference showdown provides NHL fans with an early Christmas present Monday night as the Boston Bruins' game at TD Garden against the Anaheim Ducks will be televised nationally by Versus in the United States and TSN2 in Canada.
Each team currently holds down the eighth and final playoff spot in its respective conference. The Bruins (17-10-4) are four points ahead of the Hurricanes and will be trying to make it back-to-back wins after edging the Capitals on Saturday. The Ducks (17-15-4) have the division rival Kings and Coyotes right on their tail, just one point back, and are looking for their first win in three games.
It was definitely emotional. I really appreciated the fans. It was a cool feeling and it felt special and the ovation there at the start and then you kind of feel funny out there standing by yourself. Thinking back, I was saying just a bit ago, you think back just trying to make the NHL and then you kind of reflect on all the years being able to play for a great organization here in Calgary and all the fun I've had so far in my career. I feel very fortunate and blessed.
