Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane both took to the ice for practice Saturday, but the two injured forwards were not in the Chicago Blackhawks' lineup for Sunday night's game against the Los Angeles Kings.
Kane, currently the Hawks' third-leading scorer this year with 11 goals and 16 assists, has been out since Dec. 7, when the winger injured his left ankle against the Calgary Flames. While Kane was initially expected to miss three weeks, he has been skating recently, fueling speculation he may be making an early return to the ice.
Hossa, who has 18 points in 21 games this season, suffered a lower-body injury after colliding with teammate Nick Boynton in practice last month. He has not played since Nov. 27.
Left wing Viktor Stalberg also missed Sunday's game with Los Angeles due to an upper-body injury.
