Lemieux begins prep for 'Classic' alumni game
It looked like 1991 all over again Wednesday on the ice at Consol Energy Center. Skating through a practice session were Hall of Famers Mario Lemieux and Bryan Trottier, as well as other teammates from their Stanley Cup championship teams.

The long-retired players are getting their skating legs back in preparation for an alumni game between former members of the Penguins and Washington Capitals that will be played in conjunction with the 2011 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic. The game will be played Dec. 31 on the ice rink being built at Heinz Field.

It will mark the first time Lemieux has played in a game since his final retirement as a player in 2006.

Also on the ice with Lemieux and Trottier were Phil Bourque, as well as current Penguins coach Dan Bylsma and assistant Tony Granato, as well as a few other Penguins staffers.
