The holiday season is a time for giving and sharing, and the 30 NHL member teams are doing their part to spread cheer throughout their respective communities.

Upcoming NHL team holiday drives
ATLANTA THRASHERS
On Dec. 18 Thrashers Fan Club will auction off Build-A-Bears, dressed in Thrashers shirts signed by all the players.
BOSTON BRUINS
On Dec. 21 Bruins players, coaches and management will participate in the Holiday Toy Shopping and Delivery to benefit area hospitals
CALGARY FLAMES
On December 18th the Flames will host the Second Annual United Way Game at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
COLORADO AVALANCHE
On Dec. 20 two Avalanche players will visit a young patient with Cystic Fibrosis at the National Jewish Hospital.
COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS
From Dec. 11 to Dec. 23 at home games, Blue Jackets' wives and girlfriends will auction off baskets full of the players' favorite things.
DALLAS STARS
On Dec. 16 the Stars team up with local news channel WFAA and Santa's Helpers to bring toys to children this holdiay season..
DETROIT RED WINGS
On Dec. 19 and Dec. 22, The Salvation Army will have its famous red kettles at Joe Louis Arena.
FLORIDA PANTHERS
On Dec. 29, the Panthers organization invites 75 underprivileged kids and families to have a New Year celebration with some players.
MINNESOTA WILD
On Dec. 17 Wild Better Halves (and MSE staffers) will wrap donated gifts to be distributed to patients at Children's Hospital over the holidays.
MONREAL CANADIENS
On Dec. 16 the players' spouses will support the initiative of Opération Père Noel led by Normand Brault, a psycho-educator working with Youth Centres.
NASHVILLE PREDATORS
Predators players
Ryan Suter and
Shea Weber will host a holiday part for 100 children at Centennial Sportsplex on Dec. 20.
NEW JERSEY DEVILS
The Devils will hold their annual toy drive on Dec. 17 when the Devils take on the
Nashville Predators at Prudential Center.
NEW YORK ISLANDERS
On Dec. 18 there will be a toy drive benefit for the John Theissen Foundation and a holiday grab bag to benefit the Islanders Children's Foundation.
NEW YORK RANGERS
Two players will join 20 youngsters from a Garden of Dreams partner organization for a 'Show Kids NY' event at Dylan's Candy Bar in New York City.
OTTAWA SENATORS
The Senators will host a food drive in support of the Ottawa Foodbank on Dec. 19.
PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
In an effort to help alleviate hunger in the Greater Philadelphia Region, all month long Comcast-Spectacor will host a food drive at the Wells Fargo Center to aid Philabundance.
PHOENIX COYOTES
On Dec. 28, as a part of Coyotes Charities, they will be hosting an ice skating party for terminally ill children.
PITTSBURGH PENGUINS
After practice on Dec. 17, the entire team dons Santa hats and makes their annual visit to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh to distribute toys.
SAN JOSE SHARKS
At home games on Dec. 21 and 23, the Sharks Foundation hosts auctions at the booth located just outside Sec. 124 on the Concourse Level.
ST. LOUIS BLUES
On Dec. 18, the Blues will host a toys for tots toy drive and a festival of trees auction.
TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
On Dec. 19, the players and their families will host an exceptional group from the Children's Cancer Center.
WASHINGTON CAPITALS
Players' wives will auction off gift baskets that contain their husbands' favorite things as part of the Happy Hockey Holiday silent auction on Dec. 23.
