Pens try to start new streak
With their 12-game winning streak ended by the Flyers in Philadelphia on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Penguins will try to start a new one at home by beating the last team they lost to.

One night after losing 3-2 at the Wells Fargo Center, the Penguins welcome the New York Rangers to the Consol Energy Center. The Rangers beat Pittsburgh 3-2 in overtime on Nov. 15 -- the Penguins' last loss until Tuesday. New York is coming off its biggest win of the season, a 7-0 wipeout of the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

The Rangers-Penguins game is one of four to get under way at 7. The Capitals try to rebound in one of the other early starts when they host Anaheim. The Ducks beat Minnesota 6-2 at home on Sunday in their last game before beginning their seven-game trip. Another Western team, the Phoenix Coyotes, begin a long trip with a visit to New Jersey, and the Boston Bruins visit Buffalo.

The Flyers hope to build on their victory against Pittsburgh when they visit Montreal in one of four 7:30 p.m. ET starts. The Canadiens have been off since Saturday's 3-1 loss at Toronto. The game will be shown in Canada on TSN and RDS.

Also at 7:30, Detroit tries to rebound from a 5-0 loss to Los Angeles on Monday when it hosts St. Louis. After wins against the Islanders and Senators, Atlanta will try to sweep a three-game trip when it visits Tampa Bay. The Lightning are back home after a 5-4 OT win at Vancouver on Saturday. Florida, a 3-0 loser at Nashville on Saturday, hosts Carolina, a 2-1 shootout winner at St. Louis on Saturday.

A half-hour later, Nashville will try for its third shutout win in a row when it hosts San Jose. The Preds blanked Florida 3-0 on Saturday and the Islanders 5-0 on Monday -- the same night the Sharks lost 3-2 in a shootout to Dallas at home.

At 8:30, the Chicago Blackhawks are back at the United Center for the back end of a home-and-home series with Colorado. The Avs scored three late goals to beat the Hawks 7-5 in Denver on Monday.
In the final game of the night, Columbus visits Vancouver. The Canucks have had a couple of days off after Sunday's 2-1 victory at Vancouver, while the Jackets lost 3-2 in overtime at Calgary on Monday.
