Drury back for Rangers on Wednesday
When the New York Rangers take the ice Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, they'll have captain Chris Drury in the lineup for the first time since Oct. 11
New York Rangers captain Chris Drury will return to the lineup Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins after missing the past 29 games with a broken left index finger.

Drury didn't play in the Rangers' first two games of the season due to a different break in the same finger he suffered during a scrimmage Sept. 20. In his return from that injury, he played just 9:11 against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 15 before leaving with his latest injury.

The 34-year-old took part in a full practice Tuesday and rotated skating on a line with Sean Avery, Erik Christensen and Todd White. Coach John Tortorella said either Christensen or White will go to the press box to make room for Drury.

Tortorella said he wouldn't take one of the "kids" out of the lineup following his team's 7-0 win against the Washington Capitals on Sunday. White, 35, and Christensen, 26, have been struggling to earn consistent minutes lately.

Tortorella said Drury will see time at center and left wing and doesn't think his return will do anything to disrupt the chemistry that has helped the Rangers win eight of 12 and climb to sixth in the Eastern Conference with 37 points.

Drury is one the Rangers' top penalty killers and had 14 goals and 32 points in 77 games last season.

The Rangers also are expected to get Vinny Prospal back in the next couple of weeks. Prospal was the team's second-leading scorer last season with 20 goals and 58 points but has yet to play a game this season due to knee surgery in mid-October.
