The Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday assigned forward Nikita Filatov, their No. 1 pick in the 2008 Entry Draft, to the Springfield Falcons, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, and recalled forward Tom Sestito.

Filatov, 20, has 7 assists and 8 penalty minutes with a plus-3 rating in 23 games with Columbus this season.  He has 6 goals, 13 points, 16 PIM and a plus-6 rating in 44 career NHL games during the past three seasons with the Blue Jackets.  The Jackets took Filatov with the No. 6 pick in the 2008 draft. He had 16 goals and 32 points with 24 PIM with Syracuse of the AHL in 2008-09, but spent most of last season on loan to CSKA of the Kontinental Hockey League after a slow start with the Jackets.

Sestito, 23, has 6 goals and for 17 points with 81 PIM and an even rating in 17 games with Springfield this season, leading the club in penalty minutes and tying for second in assists and third in points.  He has 24 PIM in four career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, including 7 penalty minutes in three games in 2009-10.

Sestito was the club’s third pick (No. 85) in the 2006 Entry Draft.  The 6-foot-5, 226-pound native of Rome, N.Y., has 31 goals and 77 points with 589 PIM minutes in 171 AHL games with Springfield and Syracuse.

Kings recall Moller -- The Los Angeles Kings recalled forward Oscar Moller from the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL on Friday.

Moller, a 21-year-old native of Stockholm, has 6 goals, 17 points and 10 penalty minutes along with a plus-8 rating with the Monarchs while serving as an alternate captain.

The second-round pick by the Kings in the 2007 Entry Draft has 11 goals and 22 points in 74 NHL games, all with the Kings, including 4 goals and 7 points in 34 games last season.

The Kings lost forward Brad Richardson with an upper-body injury during Thursday's 2-1 victory against Calgary.

Flyers loan Matt Walker -- The Philadelphia Flyers loaned veteran defenseman Matt Walker to their American Hockey League affiliate, the  Adirondack Phantoms, for conditioning purposes.

Walker, 30, has not appeared in a regular-season game for the Flyers this season. He underwent surgery on Oct. 20 to repair a torn labrum and bony impingement in his right hip. Walker appeared in four preseason games, scoring 1 goal and posting 10 PIM along with a minus-2 rating.  He was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning along with a fourth-round pick in exchange for Simon Gagne on July 19.

Ducks bring back Sexton -- The Anaheim Ducks on Friday recalled forward Dan Sexton from the AHL Syracuse Crunch, their top farm team.

Sexton has appeared in 13 games with Anaheim this season, scoring 1 goal and 3 points with 2 PIM while averaging 13:08 of ice time. He's had 3 goals and 6 points in six games during two stints with Syracuse this season.

The 23-year-old, signed as a free agent in April 2009, had 9 goals and 19 points in 41 games as a rookie last season. In all, the 5-foot-10, 174-pounder has appeared in 54 NHL games with Anaheim, scoring 10 goals and adding 12 assists for 22 points with 18 PIM.

Caps recall Fahey -- The Washington Capitals recalled defenseman Brian Fahey from the AHL Hershey Bears on Friday.

Fahey, 29, has played five games for the Capitals this season, recording 1 assist and 2 penalty minutes. He has 2 goals and 10 points in 18 games with the Bears this season after signing with the Caps as a free agent this summer after spending the last five seasons with four teams in the AHL. He was a fourth-round pick by Colorado in the 2000 Entry Draft.
