A weekend smorgasbord of hockey on NHL Network
The NHL Network has hockey for U.S. hockey fans of all sorts next weekend.

On Dec. 11, the Network will air an Original Six matchup when the Montreal Canadiens visit Detroit. The Red Wings have established themselves as the best of the West, while the Canadiens are on top in the Northeast Division as the teams prepare for their only meeting of the season. Game time is 7 p.m. ET.

Live college hockey makes its debut on the Network on Dec. 12 when Boston University visits RPI. The Terriers come to Troy, N.Y., looking to avenge last year's upset loss in Boston. That game will get under way at 3 p.m. ET.

Then it's back to the big boys on Saturday night when the Canadiens visit Toronto for a 7 p.m. ET showdown. That game will also air on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada.

The top farm teams of the Leafs and Canadiens square off on the NHL Network on Sunday afternoon when the Toronto Marlies visit the Hamilton Bulldogs at 1 p.m. ET. That's an appetizer for the evening's main course, when  Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals visit New York for a showdown with the Rangers, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
