Bruins and Flyers renew acquaintances Wednesday
It's been more than six months since the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins crossed paths -- and it's not a night the Bruins or their fans want to remember.

The teams meet for the first time this season when Boston comes to the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night for one of seven games on the NHL schedule. It's their first meeting since May 14, when the Flyers capped a historic playoff comeback with a 4-3 victory in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series. The Flyers became just the third team to overcome a 3-0 series deficit -- and then rallied from a three-goal deficit in Game 7 as well.

The Bruins-Flyers game is one of three that begins at 7 p.m. ET. In the others, Edmonton tries to build on Monday's 4-1 win at Ottawa when it visits Montreal in a game that will be shown in Canada on TSN and RDS. Also, Nashville visits Columbus, where the Blue Jackets will try to bounce back after being swept by Detroit in home-and-home series this past weekend.

At 8 p.m. ET, Washington will try to end a losing streak in St. Louis that dates to 1996 when the Caps visit the Scottrade Center. The Caps have had a couple of days off after Sunday's 3-2 win against Carolina, while the Blues have lost just once in regulation at home this season. Also at 8, Phoenix visits Minnesota -- the Wild have been off since losing 7-4 at Colorado on Saturday.

At 9:30 p.m. ET, Vancouver visits Calgary in a game that will also air on TSN. A half-hour later, Florida begins a Western trip with a visit to Anaheim. The Ducks are back home after a 2-0 victory at Los Angeles on Monday. The Panthers have been off since a 4-3 shootout win at Tampa Bay on Saturday.
