A rare matchup between two and-up-coming teams will be televised for a national audience on Monday night.

The Dallas Stars, who have won three straight and find themselves in a first-place tie in the Pacific Division at 13-8-1, will travel to the East Coast to face the Carolina Hurricanes at the RBC Center. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on Versus in the U.S. and TSN2 in Canada.

Carolina (10-10-3) picked up a big point Sunday night thanks to Eric Staal's goal with 7.3 seconds remaining in regulation that erased a 2-1 deficit in Washington. The Hurricanes lost in a shootout, but pulled within three points of a playoff spot.

Canadian fans will also be treated to the showdown featuring the Edmonton Oilers and Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place. Ottawa (11-12-1) is coming off a 3-0 win against Toronto on Saturday. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Quote of the Day

We think that Randy is a very good coach. Our players think that Randy is a very good coach. We think that he's going to get the most out of this group. With the addition of the two assistants, a bit of a different dynamic, we're very comfortable that this is a quality coaching staff that's going to maximize the potential of this team.
