Brodeur told to rest elbow for up to two weeks
According to multiple media reports, New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur has been told to rest his bruised right elbow anywhere from 10 days to a maximum of two weeks after undergoing an MRI on Friday.

"The MRI was negative," GM Lou Lamoriello told Tom Gulitti of the Record. "I was there with him with our doctors and the specialist and he got as thorough an examination as you can get. It's just a simple bruise. He just has to rest it until the swelling is gone. He'll be practicing again before you know it."

Brodeur originally suffered the injury after taking a shot off the elbow in a game against Chicago on Nov. 3 and missed the following two games. He came back to start the next three but re-aggravated the injury during the second period Thursday in Toronto and was replaced by backup Johan Hedberg to start the third.

The Devils recalled goalie Mike McKenna from Albany of the AHL on Friday and he started in St. Louis on Saturday.

Brodeur is 4-10-1 this season with a 2.74 goals-against average and .901 save percentage.
