Miller back as Sabres host Capitals

The bad news for the Buffalo Sabres is that they'll have to beat the NHL's winningest team to win at home for the first time this season. The good news is that they'll likely have goaltender Ryan Miller back in the lineup as they try to do it.

The Sabres are 0-6-1 at HSBC Arena as they prepare to host the Washington Capitals, whose 12 wins are the most in the NHL, in one of 11 games on Saturday's NHL schedule. But they're likely to have Miller, last season's Vezina Trophy winner, back in goal as they try to shut down Alex Ovechkin & Co. Miller missed five games, including all three on a 2-0-1 trip that ended with Thursday's 3-2 OT loss at New York. The Caps are rolling -- Thursday's 6-3 home victory against Tampa Bay was their sixth in a row.

The Caps and Sabres face off at 7 p.m. ET, as do six other games.

Vancouver tries to build on Thursday's 6-2 win at Ottawa when it visits Toronto -- the Leafs are back home after being swept in their two-game swing through Florida. That game can be seen in the U.S. on the NHL Network and in Canada as part of Hockey Night in Canada.

Ottawa begins a road trip in Boston, where they Bruins lost 3-1 to Montreal on Thursday. The Canadiens are back home to host Carolina, which is still reeling from an 8-1 home drubbing by Philadelphia. Both of those games can be seen regionally on CBC.

Also at 7, Colorado visits Detroit, which had a day off to enjoy Thursday's 6-2 victory against Edmonton; Philadelphia is back home to host Florida and Pittsburgh visits Atlanta, where the Thrashers played their best game of the season in Thursday's 5-1 win against Minnesota.

Two games get under way at 8 p.m. ET. Nashville returns home after Thursday's 3-2 shootout victory against St. Louis to host Chicago, which is still stinging after Wednesday's 2-1 home loss to Phoenix. The Coyotes are home to host the Blues.

At 10 p.m. ET, Calgary continues its road trip with a visit to San Jose. That game can be seen in Canada as the second half of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada doubleheader. A half-hour later, the New York Islanders wrap up their California trip with a visit to Los Angeles, where the Kings have been unbeatable this season. The Isles have dropped nine in a row, though they finally got a point in Thursday's 2-1 shootout loss at San Jose.
