Bruins go for five in a row

Two weeks ago, the Boston Bruins began their season with a 5-2 loss to Phoenix in Prague as part of the Compuware NHL Premiere series. Since then, they've been unbeatable -- and on Saturday, they'll try to stay that way.

The Bruins have won four in a row since their season-opening loss, and they'll try to make it five when the New York Rangers come to TD Garden for one of 13 games on the NHL schedule. Both teams are coming off wins on Thursday: Boston beat Washington 4-1 and the Rangers won 2-1 at Toronto.

The Rangers-Bruins game is one of seven that get under way at 7 p.m. ET.

Montreal, which beat the Senators a week ago at the Bell Centre, pays a return trip to Ottawa for a game that will be shown on CBC. Toronto visits Philadelphia, a 3-2 loser to Anaheim on Thursday in a game also being shown on CBC, as well as on the NHL Network in the United States.

Also at 7, New Jersey, which shut out the Canadiens 3-0 in Montreal on Thursday, hosts Buffalo, a 4-2 loser at home to Ottawa on Friday. The New York Islanders, 4-1-2 after Thursday's 3-2 OT win at Tampa Bay, visit Florida and Atlanta, a 5-2 home loser to the Lightning on Friday, visits Washington.

Two more games begin at 8 p.m. ET. Pittsburgh, coming off a 4-3 overtime win at Nashville on Thursday, visits St. Louis. The Predators start a road trip with a visit to Dallas, which improved to 5-1-0 on Thursday with a 4-1 victory at Florida.

At 8:30, Columbus tries to rebound from a 6-2 home loss to Calgary on Friday when it visits Chicago, which comes back home after a 4-2 loss at St. Louis on Friday. A half-hour later, Los Angeles visits Colorado and Carolina concludes its season-opening marathon road trip with a visit to Phoenix. The Coyotes are coming off Thursday's 4-2 home victory against Los Angeles, which came one night after the Kings edged the Hurricanes 4-3 in L.A.

The final game of the night is in Edmonton, where the Oilers host San Jose at 10 p.m. ET. The Sharks continue a trip that began with a 4-2 victory at Colorado on Thursday, the same night the Oilers dropped a 4-2 decision to Minnesota at home.
