CHICAGO – After missing a road trip to Columbus on Friday night because of an illness, Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane is expected to play tonight at home against Buffalo.
The Hawks didn't practice Saturday, but coach Joel Quenneville said Kane went through a light morning skate and should be ready to play by the time the puck is dropped at 8:30 p.m. ET.
"We're hopeful," Quenneville said. "He tried to skate this morning and looked better, felt better. I'm sure he'll feel better going into the game. Unless something goes the opposite way, he's expected to come in tonight and be ready to go."
Kane, who is originally from Buffalo and grew up rooting for the Sabres, had 2 goals and 1 assist in four games played – including a goal against the Sabres in a 4-3 win in Buffalo on Monday.
Marty Turco will get the start in goal for Chicago, one night after picking up his first win in a Hawks uniform -- he made 30 saves in a 5-2 victory at Columbus.
