Blackhawks' Hjalmarsson suspended two games
TORONTO -- Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson has been suspended for two games and will forfeit $37,634.40 in salary for delivering a hit from behind that caused injury to Jason Pominville of the Buffalo Sabres in NHL game #30, October 11, the National Hockey League announced today.

Hjalmarsson's fine is based on his average annual salary and is calculated under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

The incident occurred at 14:18 of the first period and Hjalmarsson was assessed a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct. The incident can be viewed here.

Hjalmarsson will miss games against Nashville tonight and at Columbus Friday. He is eligible to return Saturday against Buffalo.
