Recruitment update:

Thank you for your interest in joining the 2011 NHL All-Star Volunteer Team!

We have had an unprecedented response from the local volunteer community and expect to be fully staffed shortly. We are currently processing the applications we received at the Information Meeting and expect to be mailing out confirmation letters by the second week of January.

There may still be a few choice spots available on the roster and we have started a wait-list for people who missed our recruitment meeting and are still interested in getting involved. You may add your name to the list if you are 18 or older, love hockey and are available for a three 5 hour shifts January 26th thru the 31st 2011.

To add your name to our wait-list, please call the NHL All-Star Hotline: 919-861-7190. If we are able to add your name to our roster, someone from our production office will be contacting you within the next three weeks.

The Carolina Hurricanes and the city of Raleigh will host the 2011 NHL All-Star Weekend, January 27nd – 30th. The excitement begins on Thursday with interactive fan activities, the momentum builds on Saturday at the Honda NHL SuperSkills competition showcasing the best players in the National Hockey League and peaks with the 58th NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, January 30th at the RBC Center.

Hockey fans of all ages will have the opportunity to experience the excitement of Raleigh's 2011 NHL All-Star celebration as the NHL will host a variety of fan events to start the 2011 NHL All-Star Weekend at the Raleigh Convention Center, January 28 through January 30, 2011. The NHL will create a 150,000 square-foot interactive hockey theme park, welcoming local North Carolinians of all ages and skill levels, and provide them the opportunity to participate in the hockey festivities that mark Raleigh's first NHL All-Star Game.

To help present all of these All-Star festivities, the National Hockey League is now recruiting the coolest fans. If you are 18 or older and a fan of the Game and a fan of your city, here's a chance to share your enthusiasm, energy and skills. Help us showcase the Raleigh area and your favorite sport by volunteering as a City Ambassador or Hockey Ambassador and join us for a truly memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. To add your name to our All-Star roster, you must be available to volunteer for at least three shifts January 26th through January 30th.

For more details, we invite you to attend our upcoming NHL All-Star Volunteer Information and Registration Meeting which will be held in Raleigh on Wednesday, November 10th, 2010. During this one hour session we'll introduce you to the NHL All-Star activities, explain in detail the types of volunteer assignments, necessary dates and shift times; and give you an opportunity to add your name to our roster by completing the official application form.

Space on the roster is limited, so reserve a seat for this meeting and ensure your place as a potential NHL All-Star volunteer. Call our Hotline at 919-861-7190. We will mail you a reservation confirmation letter detailing the meeting location within two weeks of your call.

Quote of the Day

There's no discouragement in that room. There's no issues there at all to be honest with you. It's more about, 'Hey, it's opportunities for players.' And if we become that bad of a team because of one player, it's not a real good sign for our hockey club. So this is part of sports. It's part of hockey.
